“Sabonis 220” leasurewear brand launch event

September 6 was marked by a lauch of a new leasurewear brand “Sabonis 220”, surely, with the basketball legend Arvydas Sabonis.

As my clients requested “Sabas” needed to appear in pictures simple, real and natural, as he usually is, despite of his numerous titles in basketball, the latest of which was his weclome at the NBA Hall of Fame, which he accepted several weeks after our meeting for photoshoot in Palanga, Lithuanian seaside resort.

The launch event of the brand took place in Le Meridien Villon hotel near Vilnius, where most of European basketball elite was staynig (it was during the European Basketball championship). The Lithuanian basketball celebrity surprised the organisers of the VIP event by bypassing and not stepping on the red carpet leading to Bora Bora island on the lake, where the “Sabonis 220” celebration took place.

One more interesting aspect of this night was that the auction in favour of support of Arvydas Sabonis’ basketball school, sold one of my images at a price of 20.000 Litas (5800 EUR). The buyer was – Antanas Guoga, poker former player and keen supporter of Lithuanian basketball.
