In State of Sunshine 3 – Florida Keys…

Electricity Sunset - Sumerland Key, Florida / USA
Since spring in Lithuania is breaking, the memories of my ephemeric summer that I experienced in January in Florida no longer seem frustrating. This set of images is a group of quick snaps taken on Route 1, driving in South of Florida and within Florida Keys, to Key West and back. All pictues are roadside views and most were taken with a credo “don’t get out of the car”.
Seeing Florida Keys was my dream almost since I was a child. And it did raise my memories of many other places previously visited. The islands and semi-islands, the isolation and the feeling of a borderland was reminiscent of the Lithuanian Curronian Spit on the Baltic coast. And the Sevenmile bridge somehow was similar to the one joining up the islands of Denmark. But driving the Sevenmile bridge gave a certain sunny and summerly feeling, like driving towards the clouds. Well, that was the feeling from a small and low car, the VW new beetle. Trip images here, Key West impressions later.
