My photos & objects from 1992-3 at National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum

I am happy to announce that my photographs and objects from 1992 and 1993 are exhibited at the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum in Kaunas. The exhibition opened on July 17.

“D., G. and others” is an exhibition telling the story of the construction of a monument to the American-Lithuanian pilots, that was on construction from fall 1992 to its opening ceremony on July 17, 1993. Beyond the images documenting the progress of the construction, exhibition features objects related to the time of the early independence of Lithuania.

It is very symbolic that the silver gelatine prints that I made in 1993 and that make the core of the exhibition, were resting in S.Budrys Lithuanian photography archive at Ciurlionis Gallery in Chicago. Last year they were brought back to Lithuania and today are exhibited at the National M.K.Ciurlionis Art Museum, nextdoor to the photography of the great painter and composer M.K.Čiurlionis, most prominent Lithuanian artist of all times.
