Posted on Mar 15, 2013 in Photo story, Shot & Word, Exhibitions, Portfolio, Events

Exhibition “Kaunas-Grenoble. Crossing looks” was created in 2011. Two photographers from Kaunas – myself and Gintaras Česonis, who went to Grenoble, and two from Grenoble – Thierry Chenu and Thomas Guilmin, who visited Kaunas.

On March 13, the exhibition was opened in the fifth venue of its itinerary.

In September 2012 the exhibit was first shown at the town hall of Grenoble. Later, in November it came to Kaunas and faced tha audience at Kaunas  “Žalgiris” arena, during the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the collaboration of the twin cities – Kaunas and Grenoble. In the beginning of the year 2013 this voluminous exhibition, split into two, was hosted at Institut Francais in Vilnius and the Ministry of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Lithuania in Vilnius.

On March 13 the exhibition was opened in the Lithuanian Parliament “Seimas” as a part of the Mois de la Francophonie.

The participants and the audience of the opening – representatives of the commitee of collaboration between Kaunas and Grenoble, ambassadors of France and Belgium, member of Parliament Rasa Juknevičienė, the two Lithuanian authors – myself and Gintaras, and a small group of people – all had access with special passes.

It felt really weird that the exhibition is really well protected from the general audience throught pass procedures, where you need to be “invited” to visit with all of formalities of this word.

The exhibition will remain in place for about 10 days.
