travel'AIR. Singapore Changi airport (SIN). 2009<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is always like that. When I fly intercontinental, I never get enough sleep before taking off. In September 2009, during my second trip to Australia, I arrived late at night in Singapore Changi airport. I was not dreaming of kangaroos yet and had only three things on my mind. First, getting connected was vital \u2013 hearing how things of the festival back in Kaunas were running was crucial. Looking for an opportunity for a jet-lag killing nap was my second urgency. The third objective was seeing whether I could take a shot or two of this new and polished airport for my travel\u2019AIR<\/em> series. Last on my priority list, a photo opportunity was the first one to happen. Wandering in the empty terminal, right in front of my eyes emerged a scene with two guys, both doing things I was looking for. One was working with his laptop on the carpet (hardly visible in top-right corner of the image), while the other one was enjoying the nap. The resulting photograph was nothing but a\u00a0 state-of-mind self-portrait of me wanting to be both of these guys at at time, connected and disconnected. The disconnected one took over in the picture and in reality. Nonetheless, later that day, I caught up with working, managing some important tasks, such as launching festival’s city screen advertising video or submitting an application for funding, which was notified as successful the same long day at Changi airport.<\/p>\n
